Well it all started ,as many of us do, from an early age playing
the tennis racket to rock anthems on the old huge 20 watt mini system, which
I must say when I was 13 it rocked!
Been brought up on the Beatles, Elvis, the police, and statos Quo, which I am
very thankful to my Dad for, not so thankful to Mum who insisted on the seekers
and the searchers !! but none the less , a good Rock up bringing.
It wasn't long before I was into the old mans LP collection, and there I came
across Queen. The very first Album, well as you do when your 13 , you get dads
lp's out and pretend your the a DJ/rapper and try some scratchin and spin his
LP's backwards and forwards on his new state of the art Hi FI system, Not a
good idea looking back now.
But in amongst the scratchin I heard the intro to Keep yourself alive and Really
wanted to be able to do that.
and that's how I started from there it was lessons and guitars and amplifiers
and self teaching, so glad I did, I now at 29 play in a band and cover those
great songs that we all know and that never get old.
But I always had a fascination with the red special, not so much the sounds
that Bri achieves, just the history behind it, every few months I would search
and enquire as to were I could get one, but drew blanks every time, the only
one I could get one was thru Guild, but at a huge cost, one of which my Wife
couldn't justify!
So earlier this year I found about the release of the BM 2006/7 models, and
made some noises and Finally got Andrew at A strings in the UK to supply me
one. After a very anxious 7 day wait it arrived, and it was everything it says
it was.
As there was no distributor here, I started asking questions here and there,
before I new it I was putting a proposal forward to House Music UK for the Distribution
rights for NZ, and got it !!
Soooo (nearly finished) I sold my guitar to see what type of interest there
would be, and it sold within a week. From there I ordered 14 more and sold them
within 9 weeks, We have taken just over 30 guitars in 7 months with 6 stockists
around NZ, which we are still growing. The pleasing thing for me is seeing "
non " Queen fans responding to the guitars Quality and build and diverse
range of tones.
Were So very Glad to be part of the whole Queen juggernaut, and introducing
a "special" range of guitars to New Zealanders and "old girl"
fans.
oh and I can do the intro keep yourself alive now , not as good as it's owner
though!
All the best
