Friday Night Show Winner: Friday 12 March at 8pm
Amy Jackson Report

My mum and I both entered the competition, so I was quite excited to win, more so for my mum though, as she's a huge QUEEN fan.
We  arrived at Her Majesty's Theatre about 7.30pm. We met a lovely lady who worked there called Mary who looked after us for the night. She told us what was going to happen, then showed us where we'd be sitting.
Her Majesty's is a lovely old theatre. I just wish more people had been there to enjoy the show.
Neither of us had seen Killer Queen before, so we didn't know what to expect. We needn't have worried. They were excellent.
John  Blunt could be Freddie's identical twin brother. The likeness is amazing.
We weren't allowed to take any photos. They were very strict on this the night we were there and had staff watching the crowd to make sure nobody did.
I was also a bit disappointed with the audience participation. Only a handful of people got up to dance or sing.
My mum was having a great time though, singing, clapping and dancing in her seat.
After the show we went backstage to meet the band.
I've never been backstage anywhere before, so it was interesting to see things from a different view.
The guys in the band all said hello, then John gave me my other prizes...a t-shirt, stubby holder and Killer Queen booklet.
We had some photos taken with them and chatted for a few minutes, then went out to the front of the theatre to meet some other people who were waiting to see them.

I'd like to thank Killer Queen, Aussie Queens and anyone else involved in making the night possible.
I hope Aussie Queens has some more competitions in the future,

Saturday Night Show Winner: Saturday 13 March at 5pm
James Stavretis

Killer Queen
I was delighted to be one of the winners of the recent ‘Killer Queen” competition. As part of the prize my wife and I enjoyed a great show by Killer Queen in Ballarat. It was also nice to meet the band members post show to receive other prizes for winning the competition. These included a Killer Queen t-shirt. The show itself was full of great Queen songs, performed by a band that looked and sounded remarkably like Queen. A show that any Queen fan would love! Thanks to Nicole and Aussie Queens for organising the competition.
God Save the Queen.

Isis feedback corner for the Saturday Night 13 March 2010 Killer Queen Ballarat Show

Isis's Report

Fantastic show is all I can say. I had seen Killer Queen live at the filming of their shoot for Australia's Got Talent. Is this the same band I am seeing tonight? The guys have improved tremendously since I last watched them live (*and they were good to watch then).

The show was amazing and John Blunt mimics just about all of Freddie Mercury's movements, looks, mannerisms and vocal range very close to the real thing . It was a joy to watch and at one stage of the show if you looked really hard in the audience you would have seen Isis tearing up once the guys started to play Under Pressure. Yes I nearly cried during Under Pressure that is how close Killer Queen came to the real thing at that moment in time for me. The John Deacon in the Killer Queen band (Wayne Vitale) looks very close to the real John Deacon and can produce an amazing closeness for John's bass lines and movements on stage.

Icarus Falls and I were really lucky in some sense as John Blunt asked us to meet him early at the theatre to watch the guys during sound check. Now after our own event 2 weeks prior in Ballarat I knew the sound check time was going to be great to watch but I had no idea how little the sound check prepared me for what I was going to see during the actual show. Great stuff Killer Queen. John Blunt has just about perfected Freddie's movements spot on and his effort on attention to the smallest Freddie details worked and for a moment in time you felt like you were watching a shadow of what Freddie was really like to see live and in person. All I can say is if you were able to see the real Queen play live in your life - Lucky you!!!

We hope Killer Queen will be involved in the next AQ Australian Queen Fan Gathering in 2011....working on that one now ;)

Biggest regret on the night was that I only had my mobile phone to take pictures with and record the video with. I left all my bigger recording equipment at home. Well not the best quality pics I have ever taken but some good shots were captured without getting my phone captured by theatre security.
